Scripture tells us that salvation is found through belief in Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone. Every single person has sinned—-it is this sin that separates us from a perfect God. Because God is a perfect God, he cannot tolerate sin. But God is also a loving God, and came to earth in human form as Jesus Christ, who was fully God and fully man at the same time. Jesus was crucified on the cross and then rose from the dead three days later, conquering sin and death. Jesus was perfect and served as a substitute for us. He took the punishment for our sins so we could have access to the Father. When we believe the truth of Scripture—-that Jesus is the Son of God and that he rose from the dead—-and we surrender our lives to him, we are saved. Salvation is not based on how good we are or what we do. Salvation is a gift from God—-all we have to do is accept it.
To receive God’s gift of salvation, invite God into your heart and your life, and give yourself to him.
“God, I want to know you. I want to know a life of adventure with you. Jesus, who are you? I want to know you. I believe you, I accept you. Help me accept that you forgive me and be able to know how much you love me. How can I serve you and live for you well? Thank you for this life you’ve given me.”
