Kid City and Parents -- what a team!
The average child will spend over 1000 hours every year in school and they will spend less than 50 hours in church. The average parent has more than 10 times the opportunities to discuss spiritual issues in one year than a church leader does in 10 years. The church has limited potential to impact the heart of your child. That's why we believe WHAT HAPPENS AT HOME in many ways is more important than what happens at church!
We want to make sure that you don't miss the Kid City Family Production. This event is NOT just for kids. The Kid City Family Production is where kids take their parents to learn. It's a fast, noisy, zany, multimedia, kid-focused, parent-centered, virtue-driven, one hour extravaganza. This is the best way for parents to catch up on what we are talking about at Kid City so families can keep talking about it all month long.
After the production, kids go to their small group and parents stay for Parent Time, a 15-minute pep talk for parents. We believe your job is a big one and we want to do everything we can to help you succeed.
We need your help!
We have many volunteers and staff every week creating ideas, crafting environments and coaching kids to help them grow up the right way.
BUT WE CAN'T DO IT WITHOUT YOU!
We need you to help us help your kids. Here are 3 things you can do:
1. Bring your kids to Kid City.
Be sure to help them attend a consistent hour, with the same group of friends and the same leader every week.
2. Make Kid City a priority.
Don't miss this window of opportunity in your child's life to do something with them.
3. Talk about it every week at home.
Remember, no one can have more influence on your child's faith than you can as a parent. The Cue Box can be a great resource that you can purchase each month. This box is packed with a DVD, cool poster, story cards, mystery widget and key card that can open special features on a web site for your family. Check it out at http://studio252.tv/
Another resource for parents is this important web site: www.orangeparents.com View the monthly parent video and read a special blog with comments from parents like you who care about their kids.
We also have monthly God Time document that you can use to help you talk to your kids about the Virtue of the week.
