Suicide

Sometimes, all hope seems lost. Circumstances have mounted up, life is tough, and nothing seems to be going right. You may not have a direction or sense of purpose. Maybe you feel like all you can do is mess up. You may know that God loves you, but it doesn’t seem to make any difference, and life doesn’t seem to be worth living. What do you do when you’re at the end of your rope? KNOW THAT IN JESUS CHRIST THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE! Jesus loves you more than you can imagine. You were created by God for a special purpose. You are the apple of his eye. Things may seem impossible now. That is not true! In Christ, all things are possible. You may feel you are surrounded by darkness and there’s no way out. Jesus can bring you out of the darkness! He can fill your life with a new sense of purpose! If you are contemplating suicide, it is very important to reach out to others and tell them what you are considering. The battle against hopelessness and despair is not easily fought on your own. Call a friend, pastor, mentor or family immediately. Tell them you are considering suicide and that you need them to help you out of this dark time. With their support, get connected to a counselor or church that can help you find the truth of the hope that is found in Jesus!

Prayer

Take this prayer and make it your own. Just tell God what’s on your mind and what you’re feeling – be honest. The Holy Spirit will help you realize what God’s perspective is in your life.
“My Lord, here I am. Please speak to me. What do you think of me? What do you have planned for me? Please fill me with the Holy Spirit— I KNOW you have something planned for me. Remind me of your goodness. You are good. God, it is so hard for me to believe your promises right now. It’s hard for me to think that any good can come from my life, or that there’s any hope. But I know these things aren’t true—I know there’s hope in Jesus Christ, so please help me to know in the depth of my soul that my life is worth living. Silence the voice of the enemy or my own voice that tells me the lie that I should end my life. Jesus, I declare that you are my God and you have a purpose for my life and that you can conquer all my hurts and fears. God, I need you desperately right now. Fill me with the hope of your Spirit and with your incomprehensible love. Give me the courage to ask for help from those around me. Jesus, you are my life and my salvation!”
