Discover tools that will help you healthily handle anger in our Men's Anger and Women's Anger classes

Testimonies

• "My husband has done a 360 since attending the Men’s Anger class. Before he was rough and had some sharp edges, now he is much calmer about how he handles situations."
• "I was embarrassed to admit that I needed an anger class. I didn’t want others to judge me. I would even hide my book cover so no one could see it. It concerned me that I was responding to my kids with such strong emotions over little things. I didn’t realize what anger is…all the different aspects of how it can be influenced by pride, fear and loneliness. Most people only think they need an anger class if they are raging or in trouble. I believe that everyone can benefit from this information and tools."
• "After taking the anger class I realized that I tend to make things more difficult than it needs to be. I tend to be a drama queen and now I am able to assess the situation more objectively and take personal responsibility."

Men’s Anger -Overview of Classes

We meet on Tuesday nights 7PM in the auditorium classroom (various classrooms).
Call Carl Foster @ 503-661-4444, ext 364 for more information.

Level 1. Facing Your Anger. This entry level class will help you identify your anger, face your denial and receive tools to help you diffuse your anger. You will also identify your normal pattern of anger, what abuse is, how anger affects children and much more. This is the only anger management class we offer in which you may join at any time. You must complete the entire quarter before moving on to another class. Thus if you enter three or more weeks after a series begins, or miss more than four sessions you will be required to continue to take classes that term and then complete the next term as well before moving into level 2. Cost: $20.00 per term.
Level 2: The Root of Your Anger. This mid-level anger class will help you discover how to A) Understand how unmet needs can feed anger, B) Realize how other emotions can influence anger and C) Find healthy ways to express and control anger. Prerequisite: Level 1. Cost: $20.00 per term.
Level 3: Dealing with Your Belief System. This upper-level anger class is completely done in small groups and is only open to men who demonstrate coping skills and stability in their anger management. This course deals entirely with the belief system and offers tools to help men realize when they are speeding up and on the path to relapse. It also gives each man tools to evaluate what to do if they do return to anger. Prerequisite: Level 2 and approval of the instructor. Cost: $20.00 per term.
Level 4: Power Down. This class is similar to many Domestic Violence courses. Prerequisite: Level 3 and approval of the instructor. Cost: $20.00 per term.
Level 5: Safe People. Learn how to be a safe person and how to live with those who are not safe. Prerequisite: Level 4 and approval of the instructor. Cost: $20.00 per term.

What you can expect

Each level has three components: A) Small group discussion of the previous week’s homework and an honest appraisal of week regarding managing anger, B) Large group interaction and teaching with a qualified instructor, C) Small group discussion of the current information learned during the large group interaction and teaching.
